Café Coffee Day, Barista to expand overseas operations
At a time when global coffee retail giants such as Starbucks, Illycafe’s `Espressamente’ among others have lined up at the doorsteps of the Indian market, the home grown retailers Café Coffee Day (CCD) and Barista are looking at expanding their overseas operations without sacrificing on their growth plans in the domestic market.
Railways seek to board the retail wagon
The Railway Budget, which will be presented Monday by Railways minister Laloo Prasad, is expected to take forward its focus on involving the private sector in its activities. As a part of this initiative, the budget is likely to draw the broad contours of an agri-retail and asset leasing policy.
Louis Vuitton to have corporate office in India
Global luxury goods powerhouse Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), which currently has four small offices (two each in Mumbai and Delhi) is likely to set up a corporate office in India to monitor its existing operations and exploring new options. LVMH is looking at bringing Sephora (its branded-perfume retail chain to India) along with DFS (retailer for international travellers). LVMH is also looking at bringing more Christian Dior boutiques to India.
Anoo’s beauty parlour to open doors to men
Anoo’s, which offers specialised services in beauty care for women since 1980s, is now upgrading its parlours to offer such services for men too. Anoo’s wants to increase its turnover of products and services from Rs 14 crore to Rs 20 crore with the upgradation of branches this year.
