Tanishq, the leading jewellery brand of the country, owned by Titan Industries, a part of the Tata group, is going aggressive with its retail plans in the coming year.
Tanishq, which garnered sales turnover of Rs. 591 crore during the quarter ending 31st December, 2007, is well on its way to achieve revenue growth of over 50% this fiscal (Rs. 2,000 crore against 1,292 crore in the previous year). Tanishq is planning to also repeat similar performance next year by achieving sales turnover of Rs. 3,000 crore, in the next fiscal (2008-09). In fact, in the first nine months ending 31st December, 2007, of this fiscal, the brand has already crossed the previous year’s sales of 1,292 crore.
Currently, Tanishq jewellery, which operates 103 exclusive retai outlets in 72 cities across the country is likely to add another 7 outlets in 3 cities by 31st March, 2008.
Tanishq has decided to invest 5% of sales revenue towards advertising and promotion.
Tanishq, which was the official jewellery supplier for jewellery for the Hrithik Roshan/ Aishwarya Rai-starrer period movie”Jodhaa Akbar,” released the film’s jewellery collection of the film ahead of its release.
The collection has been crafted by jewellery makers from Jaipur.
Besides, being the number one brand of watches in the country, Titan is also operating eight retail outlets of its prescription wear Eye+ stores and 20 stores of Gold Plus jewellery shops. Gold Plus is second jewellery brand of the company.
