Subhiksha leads as TV Retail advertiser of 2007

AdEx India, a division of TV monitoring and rating agency TAM, has analysed the trends of Adverting on TV by the Retail sector in 2007.

The key findings of the Agency, which are based on secondages consumed (as published by www.indiantelevision.com) are listed as under:

  • TV advertising for Retail sector in 2007, in terms secondages used, registered a growth of 8% over the same period in the previous year (2006) .
  • Retail advertising on TV saw highest advertising being done in the fourth quarter of both 2006 and 2007.
  • Retail advertising on TV during the second half (H2) of 2007 was 42% higher than for the same period in the previous year i.e. H2-2006.
  • Independent Retailers (like, Subhiksha and Pantaloon, among others) accounted for 84% of overall Retail advertising on TV during 2007.
  • Subhiksha was number one Retail sector advertiser in 2007.
  • Subhiksha Mobile was number one advertised newly launched retail brand during 2007.
  • Subhiksha, Saravana Stores, Pantaloons, Jaychandran Textiles, Kala Zone Silk Mills, The Chennai Sales Group, Univer Cell, Kalanjali Stores, and Vasanth & Co. were number one to ten Retail TV advertisers in 2007.
  • Subhiksha Mobile, Home Town, The Mobile Store, E Zone, Mobilenext, Sumeet, Vibgyor, GE Technocity, Osaka Furnishings, and Pai International, in terms of secondages, were among the new Retail TV advertisers in 2007.
