IndusFila, a Bangalore-based textile manufacturer that supplies apparel to well known global apparel brands like Nautica, Lee and Wrangler, according to a Business Standard report, will invest Rs 200 crore to set up 30-40 apparel and accessories shops within a year.
Over the next five years, the company will eventually expand the retail network to around 500.
IndusFila will focus on middle income families by offering good quality products at affordable prices. Apart from apparel, products range will include shoes and accessories for men and women. 80% of the products to be sold in would be manufactured by the company itself.
Having already stitched up two franchisees and identified a location, the company will launch its first store at Bangalore in september, 2008.
IndusFila earned about 40% of its 2006-7-08 revenues of Rs 515 crore from exports.
