Subhiksha Mobile opens 100th store in Andhra; set to cross 1,500 stores across the country within a year

Subhiksha Mobile, a part of the R Subramanian owned Subhiksha Trading Services, will invest Rs 50o crore this year to expand footprint of India’s largest mobile retail chain. This expansion, according to a PTI report, will take the number of its mobile stores from 750 stores at present to 1,500 to 1,750 stores across the country.This information was made available by the retailer on the occasion of opening of its 100th store in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra is an important market for Subhiksha is reflected from the fact that it is the first mobile retailer to cross the 100 stores benchmark here. The company has been able to garner 15% share in the mobile retailing market in Andhra Pradesh since opening its first store there in second half of 2007. Subhiksha mobile stores offer the best brands of mobiles, accessories and re-charge cards to customers at the lowest prices in the market. Subhiksha Mobile’s helpline 60607777 has become quite popular with customers, who can seek information from the convenience of their homes on lowest prices for different models of phones and addresses of nearest stores.Subhiksha Mobile is operating in a high growth area as seven-odd million new mobile phones are registered every month across the country. Currently, with more than 250 million connections, India boasts of 25% plus teledensity. By 2012, the figure is expected to cross the benchmark of 500 million connections. Today, India has the second largest phone base across the world. It has recently usurped United State from the coveted second position.
