These types of Management Packages would rarely help, in Indian Scenario. Specially the present, developing one. May be, it will help, at a very later stage.

IT is very important. In organized retail, vendor and the seller are partners. They have the same objective. The professionals in-between are facilitators. They also have the same objective, but is prone to varied social, material and emotional reasons. Objective and Absolute training is required. But beyond a certain point, its the Vendor who needs to get partnered.
Vendor should be given the utmost importance. He wants his goods out of the store , as much as the seller .
He should have the authority to see his daily goods movement. He should have the automated intimation facility of the PO , the Good Receipt, the damages, the payments. He needs to be empowered with the ‘business intelligence’ , pertaining to his products and services, through the use of IT.
He should not be a ‘blind’ deliverer of all whats ordered. He should be given the ‘intelligence’ and should share the responsibility. Productivity will increase.
Things should be transparent for the Vendor.
Let me tell you, the corruption in selection of the Vendors, in purchasing etc will end, if this transparency is provided.
The Vendor , if possible should be able to even see his goods on display, at various locations, sitting in the office. The placements etc.

Then the human resource, working in-between, will be more vigilant, will implement the procedures, most ardently, and supervision will become very effective and automatic.

It will take time to do all of the above, but it will become a requirement, specially in India.
